Preexisting Maps

            Map of Maryland is an example of a preexisting map. Preexisting maps are maps that are made already for the user. The map already exists when the user goes to find it.

Custom Tailored Maps

            Custom Directions is a link to a custom tailored map that shows driving directions. 

Low Interaction Maps

            Nashville Tenn. 1919 is a link to a very low interaction map of historic Nashville.

High Interaction Maps

            National atlas map maker is a link to a map making website that lets you change many factors to have a highly interactive map

Distributed Data

            NPR Poisoned Places is a link to a map that shows areas with toxic air pollution made up of data from Environmental Impact Statements. Under each location the EIS is listed where the user can see the annual discharge of pollutants the source is releasing.

User-Contributed Data

            Favorite run78 is a link to a running path that a user contributed to this website.

Animated Maps

            Loop weather is a weather map that shows 24 hour loop animation.

Static Maps

            Static weather is the same as the previous map but in the current static form.

Updated Maps

            CDC Flu is a updated map of flu outbreaks in the U.S.

Non-Updated Maps

          Black Death shows the course of the black death in the 14th century. This map will not be updated.

Wildcard Sites

            Foothills trail overview is an example of a map that is preexisting, low interaction and a static.

            Crime mapping is a site that shows updated crime information about a specific area. This map is updated, distributed data and static.
